About this event
Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in Boulder
Who's playing
The Range Ensemble, a string quartet from Denver, performs the program. The pieces are string arrangements of pop and rock songs, so there are no vocals. The program draws on Coldplay's "Clocks," "Fix You," "The Scientist" and "Viva la Vida," and Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive," "Believer" and "Demons." It is a tribute and has no connection to either band.
What to expect
This is a seated, hour-long concert in a room lit by candles. The sanctuary's Gothic Revival stonework, stained glass and bell tower set the scene. The church dates to 1873 and is known for its acoustics, which suit strings well. Expect a quiet, attentive crowd and a program that moves from ballads to big anthems.
Why go
Most people know these songs from stadium sound systems. Here they are played acoustically in a historic downtown Boulder church. It works for fans of either band, and for anyone curious how pop hits sound on strings.
