Who's playing
The Pogs are a 90s alternative rock band that covers the decade's grunge, pop-punk and radio anthems. Their sets include songs by Smashing Pumpkins and Sublime. The band has a Boulder-area following and plays a lot of local brewery and bar rooms.
What to expect
The costume contest comes first, with prizes, and the live set follows. Halloween drink specials run through the night. 300 Suns pours mostly its own beer, with 14 to 18 taps, and has a scratch kitchen known for Nashville hot chicken and smash burgers. The taproom is casual and built for conversation.
Why go
A costume party with a cover band playing songs most people already know is an easy way to spend Halloween in Longmont. 300 Suns sits in the Slope area just south of the downtown tracks. It is a friendly, unpretentious room with its own beer and food, so you can eat there too.
