Who's playing
A different group takes each Friday of the month. Mojazz plays the first, the Dan Buller Duo the second, JD Jazz Sauce the third and Atom Jazz Network the fourth. JD's Jazz Sauce is led by James Barela and Doug Carmichael. Their monthly set explores a different era or style of jazz, with short stories about the music between pieces.
What to expect
A relaxed night in a lounge and tasting room that the distillery describes as feeling like home. The bar pours cocktails made with its own bourbon, gin and rum, plus beer, wine and zero-proof drinks. The kitchen serves bar snacks, sliders and pizza until 8pm, so many people eat first and stay for the music.
Why go
This is a small, easygoing way to hear working Front Range jazz players without going far from Longmont's downtown. The rotating lineup gives the series some variety from week to week. Abbott & Wallace is a working distillery, so the drinks are as local as the music.
