About this event
Synchronicity is defined as "the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related, but have no discernible causal connection." Maybe, it's just chance, or perhaps it's an elaborate plot by some of the most talented musicians of a generation, but few can deny the mystical experience of watching the classic film "Wizard of Oz" set to Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon." In addition to the original splendor of the film, Fiske's dome wizards will provide extra eye candy with our amazing fulldome system.
What to expect
The film plays with the album as its soundtrack, and viewers look for the moments where music and picture seem to line up. Fiske's staff add extra visuals across the dome on top of the original film. The planetarium warns that some shows may contain explicit language or images, and that laser lights and strobes might affect some viewers.
Why go
Fiske has the largest dome between Chicago and Los Angeles. It is 65 feet across, seats 200, and uses an 8K projection system and a full sound system. Seeing a familiar film and album in that room is a different experience from watching at home. The show is only offered in October, which makes it a seasonal tradition for Boulder fans of Pink Floyd and of the film.
