Classic Rock: Dome of Legends Laser & Liquid Sky show
Friday, October 30 at Fiske Planetarium and Science Center, Boulder
About this event
Journey through time and space with the legends of the early classic rock era. Featuring the iconic sounds of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Deep Purple, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, and more. This laser and liquid sky experience transforms the dome into a cosmic concert. From soaring riffs to interstellar visuals, this show is a mind-bending tribute to the music that has shaped generations.
What to expect
The show turns the planetarium dome into what the program calls a cosmic concert. Classic rock tracks play over laser patterns and liquid sky visuals, and the sound system fills the room. It runs about an hour. The planetarium notes that laser lights and strobes are used, and that some of its shows contain explicit language or images.
Why go
Fiske is the largest planetarium between Chicago and Los Angeles. Its 65-foot dome seats 200 and uses an 8K projection system. Hearing familiar riffs under that dome is a different experience from a club show. It also makes a good late-evening outing for anyone in Boulder who grew up on this music.
