About this event
Join us each Sunday for a night of celebration with The Bhakti Shakti Band along with special musical guests. Experience the transformative power of music, chanting, and dancing as we come together in love and community. Come Chant! Come Dance! Come Connect!
Who's playing
The Bhakti Shakti Band is led by Ken Bernstein on guitar and vocals, with Gayan Gregory Long on percussion and vocals and Bill McCrossen on bass. Keyboards have also been part of the lineup. Special guests and visiting kirtan leaders sit in on many weeks, so the sound shifts from one night to the next.
What to expect
Kirtan is call-and-response chanting, and the band treats the room as the choir. You sing Sanskrit mantras back to the leaders, and you can stay seated or get up and dance. People are invited to bring a snack to be turned into prasad and shared. The evenings are livestreamed and recorded, and the venue sets aside a no-camera area for anyone who prefers it.
Why go
This is one of Boulder's long-running spiritual communities, and a regular crowd gives it a welcoming feel. Vali Soul Sanctuary is a temple-like studio on Valmont Road. It was built by its founder to be a gathering place and hosts yoga, meditation and music. It suits anyone curious about chanting who wants to try it in a group.
