About this event
Whether you haven't sewn in years, are looking for new hobby, or would like to learn this valuable life skill, this class will teach you the basics of sewing while making useful and beautiful projects. In this class, participants will learn how to: · Use a sewing machine · Sew straight lines and follow a seam allowance · Box corners · Make a simple inside out bag that you will treasure! This is the first class for adults when wanting to learn to sew. Materials for this class are included. Students will use our studio sewing machines for this class.
What to expect
The class covers the basics: using a sewing machine, sewing straight lines, following a seam allowance and boxing corners. Those skills go into a simple inside-out bag you take home. It is the shop's first class for adults who want to learn to sew. Students use the studio machines, and fabric and materials are provided.

The class suits anyone who hasn't sewn in years, wants a new hobby, or wants to pick up a practical skill. SewBo is a Boulder fabric shop founded by Jordan Martindell. It also runs classes and social sewing, so there is somewhere to keep going once you have the basics. Its classes keep the teacher-to-student ratio small.
