Who's playing
Gay Bar is a roving queer party that bills this edition as its return from a summer at sea. The night has DJs and go-go dancers, plus sultry stage acts from performers Isaac Endo and Trenton Chew. The organizers are turning the warehouse into a Grecian lounge, with room left over for dancing.
What to expect
Costumes are the point, and the invitation asks you to come in character, sexy, or ideally both. Gods, monsters, sailors, gladiators, sirens and satyrs all fit the mythic theme. There is a cash bar, so bring bills for the bartenders and dancers. An unattended clothes rack is back for anyone whose costume becomes less necessary as the night goes on, and a food truck parks out front for late-night snacks.
Why go
Boulder has no dedicated gay bar, so a party built for gay mischief on Halloween is worth knowing about. The NoBo warehouse is a loose, artist-friendly space, a long way from a standard bar. The Elf Party next door gives you another option if you want to wander between the two.
