Ceramic Shelf Workshop
Saturday, October 31 at Wild Sweet Studios, Boulder
About this event
Join me for a hands-on ceramic workshop where we’ll create a one-of-a-kind sculptural wall shelf from clay. Using handbuilding techniques, I’ll guide you through designing and constructing an organic shelf that is both functional and sculptural. We’ll play with shape, texture, openings and negative space to create something that feels completely your own. Once finished and fired, your shelf can become a little home for the things you love - stones, found objects, candles, tiny treasures, or even a favorite plant. No previous ceramic experience is needed. Come ready to work with your hands, experiment, and make something a little unexpected. All clay, materials, glazing and firing are included. Saturday, October 31st Wild Sweet Studios · Boulder, Colorado $145 per person Limited to 8 participants 10am - 12 pm All clay, materials, glazing and firing are included. Come as you are. Leave having made something entirely your own.
Who's playing
Anna Flowers is one of the artists who work out of Wild Sweet Studios, a shared clay studio in East Boulder. She teaches the handbuilding techniques she uses in her own work. Her small-group workshops here, such as a seasonal altar class, follow the same approach: she guides each person through building a piece that feels personal.
What to expect
You design and build an organic shelf by hand, playing with shape, texture and openings. No ceramics experience is needed. All clay, materials, glazing and firing are included, so you only need to show up ready to get your hands dirty. With eight people at most, there is room for individual guidance and for trying out ideas.
Why go
You leave with a one-of-a-kind piece, finished and fired for you. It could hold stones, candles, small treasures or a plant. Wild Sweet Studios is a collective of clay artists with a small shop of handmade work, so there is plenty to look at before or after you make your own.
