Film Social
Sunday, November 1 at Main Library, Boulder
About this event
Film Socials are for the whole family. Enjoy Coco (2017) on the big screen in the Canyon Theater. This month's pre-movie activity is tissue paper marigolds! Boulder Public Library District Presents... (BPLD Presents) is a series of cultural, civic and creative happenings that focus on learning about, and building, the community that our library serves. Explore the calendar of events for the Canyon Theater and art exhibitions.
What to expect
Film Socials pair a family-friendly film with a hands-on activity, and people are invited to come early for the activity before the movie starts. For Coco, the early activity is making tissue paper marigolds, a nod to the film's Día de los Muertos setting. The series is meant to work for kids and adults sitting together.
Why go
The Canyon Theater is a 190-seat room on the library's Main Library campus, built for film screenings, with a real stage, projection and sound. Watching a film there is closer to a small neighborhood cinema than a library program room. Film Socials run monthly through BPLD Presents, the library district's slate of community events, so it is an easy outing for a mixed-age group in Boulder.
