Em Beihold: Tales of a Failed Shapeshifter Tour with Janani K. Jha

Em Beihold is a pop singer-songwriter who broke out with "Numb Little Bug" in 2022. She has played The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show, and has opened for Jonas Brothers and Lewis Capaldi. Her debut album, Tales of a Failed Shapeshifter, is about learning who she is once the shapeshifting stops working. Janani K. Jha opens. Her songs draw on Greek mythology, with a jazz-leaning pop sound, and she has co-written with Beihold.

A standing pop show built around the new album, with Beihold moving between keyboard and the front of the stage. Jha's opening set has mixed full-band songs with acoustic ones and stories about where the songs came from. The Fox is a mid-sized club with a strong sound system, so the room feels full without feeling distant.

This is a young pop artist playing her first album in a room built for live music. The Fox opened in 1992, was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, and is one of the best places in Boulder to see a rising act up close. Jha is also worth arriving early for.
