Thursday, November 5 at Prentup Field, Boulder
About this event
Colorado Buffaloes women's soccer hosts the Cincinnati Bearcats in a Big 12 match at Prentup Field on CU's East Campus in Boulder. The Buffs are coached by Danny Sanchez and have been strong at home. The field sits in the Flatirons' shadow and feels more like a neighborhood match than a big stadium night.
Who's playing
Colorado is led by senior forward Hope Leyba, her sister Faith Leyba on the back line, and midfielder Reagan Kotschau, a playmaker with double-digit assists. Cincinnati leans on junior forward Tiana Campbell, who has scored much of the Bearcats' offense. The teams have met only a few times, with Colorado ahead in the series and no goals in their last meeting in Cincinnati.
What to expect
A conference match under the lights, played on a native-soil grass pitch with mountain views behind it. Prentup has bleachers for about 2,000, and many fans bring lawn chairs and blankets for the open areas. Concessions are on site, and the crowd is a mix of students, families and longtime CU soccer regulars.
Why go
Prentup is one of the more relaxed places to watch Big 12 sports in Boulder, close to the field with the Front Range as a backdrop. Colorado has been tough to beat at home. Cincinnati is described by Sanchez as a team that does not give much away, so goals may be hard to come by.
