About this event

TICKETS Thursday, October 29 at 3 p.m. In this mindboggling true story, an unsung hero has a chance encounter with fate that inspires an historic act of daring. Michel Cojot, a French businessman tormented by his father’s murder at Auschwitz, is bent on revenge but fails to act when he has his chance. But one year later, he finds himself aboard a plane hijacked by terrorists who force the pilot to land at Entebbe Airport in Uganda. There, he uses his wits, cool resolve and negotiating skills, playing a pivotal role in the famous rescue operation – at great risk to himself and his young son. An astounding tale of redemption and valor, layered with a poignant story of family healing. Documentary/101minutes/In French, English, Hebrew/2026 Directed by Boaz Dvir Narrated by Jason Alexander

Who's playing

Boaz Dvir wrote, directed and produced the film. Jason Alexander narrates. The story centers on Michel Cojot, who learned that his father, Joseph Goldberg, was killed at Auschwitz. Cojot then tracked down Gestapo commander Klaus Barbie in Bolivia. The film follows what happened after he hesitated at the moment he could have acted.

What to expect

A feature-length documentary in French, English and Hebrew, shown with subtitles as needed. It moves from a postwar search for justice to the hijacking of a plane to Entebbe, where Cojot played a pivotal part in the rescue. The film also follows a quieter thread about family healing, involving Cojot and his young son. The Grace Gamm is a small, fixed-seat theater with about 116 seats, so the screening feels close.

Why go

The film is a true story that is less well known than the Entebbe raid itself. It treats revenge, regret and redemption seriously. The Boulder Jewish Film Festival gives it a proper theater and an audience that can talk it over afterward. The Dairy is a longtime arts center at 26th and Walnut.
