Who's playing

The band is Ain't No Mountain High Enough (A Motown Stax Revue), a Front Range group that plays only songs from the Motown and Stax labels. Denver soul and R&B singer Dzirae Gold shares lead duties with Aleik Maddox, who sings and plays guitar, and Jon Oren, who sings and plays drums. Their sets draw on artists like The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding and Sam & Dave.

What to expect

The night is framed as a trip across the AM radio dial on a 1960s Halloween. It is a modern take on the classic revue show, with a 7-piece band and a lot of room to dance. Roots Music Project is a repurposed Pearl Street warehouse with a full stage, a full bar and a funky, speakeasy feel. The room holds a few hundred people.

Why go

This dance party has become a Halloween tradition in Boulder, and the band's whole repertoire is built for dancing. Roots Music Project is a nonprofit local music venue, so the night also supports the area's music community. Costumes are welcome, but not required.
